AFYPNISIS.
Αφύπνιση, awakening.
A way of recognising the identity and protective strategies that once helped you succeed, and gently choosing how you want to lead and live now.
Grounded in evidence.
Built on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the neuroscience of the stress response.
THE FIVE STAGES
Five stages, at your own pace.
01 · Reveal
What is really guiding me?
We explore your story, your current pressures and the unwritten rules behind your decisions, such as “I must have the answer” or “I cannot disappoint anyone.” Together we trace each pattern to what it protects and what it costs, and separate the strengths you keep from the habits you may no longer need.
02 · Release
What am I still carrying that isn’t mine?
Acceptance is not approval. We gently separate what cannot change, what was never yours to carry, and what is truly your responsibility now, so the energy spent on the past can return to the present.
03 · Regulate
What happens in me under pressure?
How fight, flight, freeze and fawn show up in your leadership, the early signals in your body, and what genuinely steadies you. You practise pausing, noticing and choosing in real situations, and we refine it together.
04 · Realign
What do I truly want to build?
Your ambition stays; we look at what drives it. Values and goals, meaningful ambition and automatic proving, what you want and what you feel you should want. Then we align your time, energy and attention with three to five chosen priorities.
05 · Embody
Who do I choose to be?
Insight becomes everyday behaviour that others can see, in your focus, words and actions. Tried in real situations, reviewed and refined. Practice and return, not perfection.
A GLIMPSE INTO A SESSION
Small steps, lasting change.
A SESSION MAY INCLUDE
1. The real situation you are facing now
2. The pattern it brings up: thoughts, emotions, impulses
3. What that pattern protects, and what it costs
4. A different response, chosen deliberately
5. One small experiment to try before we meet again
AN EXAMPLE: THE RESCUE LOOP
A CEO sees a missed deadline and thinks, “Only I can fix this.” Anxiety rises and they take over. Relief comes quickly, and the team quietly learns to wait.
Together we explore the belief and its immediate reward, then try a new response: clarify the outcome, agree ownership, review without rescuing. Not blame, but choice.
PLEASE NOTE
AFYPNISIS is psychology-informed leadership and personal development, not psychotherapy or crisis care.
Where clinical support would serve you better, I will talk this through with you and suggest an appropriate referral.
